Developing a national standard is a rigorous process designed to ensure safety and quality for all citizens. Every Syrian standard begins as a New Work Item Proposal (NP), where its feasibility and international alignment are evaluated by the Board of Directors. The journey continues through the Working Draft (WD) and Committee Draft (CD) phases, involving intensive technical debates with stakeholders.
A critical milestone is the 60-day Public Enquiry (DIS Stage), where the draft is opened for national feedback. After final approval by the Minister of Economy and Industry (FDIS), the standard is officially published and added to the National Standards Guide. This structured path ensures that Syrian industry remains competitive and safe.
